My journey to becoming a chiropractor started almost twenty years ago when I first qualified as a personal trainer; during my time in this profession I became very interested in how people moved and helped those with poor movement to improve through exercise.
After having some problems with my own lower back and seeking treatment from a chiropractor, I came to realise that exercise alone was not enough to help peoples’ movement and decided to spend 5 years studying at the University of South Wales and graduated with a Masters of Chiropractic.
As a Chiropractor, I really enjoy being able to restore a patients’ movement, but also love that I can help people with many other issues. Please don’t think that due to my background I will require you to be in the gym every day of the week, but I will definitely encourage you to move more and to move better.

My passion for helping people started early in my Military Career 22 years ago. As a Physical Training Instructor improving the health and fitness of thousands of people I began focusing on those less physically fit and struggling with injury. I was fascinated by anatomy and exercise physiology.
Inspired by how rehabilitation was fundamental to injury recovery, I developed my knowledge at the University of Central Lancashire, and St Mary’s University and completed my Exercise Rehabilitation Instructor qualification in 2008.
Since then I have worked in Primary Care Rehabilitation Centres treating Military personnel and was fortunate to be selected to lead the specialist exercise rehabilitation team for UK Special Forces. I now take those 20 years of experience to offer exercise based rehabilitation here at Refresh Movement..
I started out undertaking the first year of a physiotherapy degree straight after school, but quickly realised this wasn't quite what I wanted to do. This led me to doing a degree in sports and exercise science. My father then saw a Chiropractor following an ankle injury nobody else was able to improve. After this I started studying chiropractic at the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic with Leigh.
Since graduation I have worked in several multidisciplinary clinics and undertaken extra training in treating pregnant patients, sports injuries, and
K-taping.
I really like that the ethos of this clinic around functional movement allows me to integrate and use both of my degrees. I also love being able to help women through their pregnancy with the post graduate training I have done.
